ATHENS This tour gives you an opportunity to observe the striking contrasts that make Athens such a fascinating city. Our expert guides take you to see the most important aspects of the city center. This trip starts at midnight and the tour includes Constitution Square (Syntagma), the House of Parliament, the Memorial to the Unknown Soldier, and the National Library. Driving down Herod Atticus Street, you will see the Evzones in their picturesque uniforms and the Presidential Palace. On your way to the Acropolis, you will view Hadrian’s Arch, visit the Temple of Olympian Zeus, and make a short stop at the Panathinaiko Stadium, where the first Olympic Games of the modern era were held in 1896. The visit to the Acropolis includes some of the most magnificent architectural masterpieces of the Golden Age, including the Propylaea, the basis of the Temple of Athena Nike(since the temple itself has been disassembled and is being restored), the Erechtheion, and finally, the Parthenon, a true synthesis of the harmony between material and spirit. In order to leave this spirit of ancient ages, you will have free time to walk in Plaka area and shop at the traditional small shops souvenirs. On the way back, we stop to Thermopylae and late at night is our arrival toi the starting point.
